Default 'Cause I don't have enough of my own to take care of...

Found 'em yesterday...here in Perris (in my front yard...I think someone dumped them here)...

Adult male (intact, of course) terrier something or other...about a year old. Typical little dog. Yappy, nippy, licky, and bounces up to my nose every two and a half seconds. Ridiculously cute and on my last damned nerve.

And a female Chow/Shepherd pup, maybe three months old. Too cute for my own good.

I love animals but people are starting to piss me off. I'm getting damned tired of taking care of other people's pets when they decide they're done with them.

I'll get pictures up this weekend unless an owner comes forward first.

I used to do that, too. Even when I was an ACO, I would do that. But I don't anymore. At some point, I figured out that - although it wasn't the critters' fault - it was not going to get better if they stayed here. If the owner wanted that critter back, it was gonna cost 'em. So I don't even play around anymore. They go straight to the shelter. I take a big deep breath and either load 'em up or make the call. I hate it but I do it.

Oddly enough, the number of 'strays' has decreased exponentially since I started doing that.

Hope they go home soon!

I took them to AC this morning. 'Bout killed me. Normally I'd foster them here but I just don't have the resources right now, and we're moving two weeks from tomorrow. With all of the foreclosures/evictions/etc around here, people are just moving and leaving their animals behind and it's disgusting. We're in a similar situation...losing this house and moving to a small rental house 140 miles away. But all of our pets are going...from the difficult dog down to the betta.

I wish you the very best of luck with your living situation. Only by the slimmest of margins do we keep our own roofs over our heads.

Oh, pj - I'm sorry. There's no good way to say anything - just I'm sorry.
